SOUPER BOWL

I know the Steelers are not in the Super Bowl - but Super Bowl Sunday still exists (It does I promise). So, the February 5th Fellowship Lunch will be right after CHUM’s worship service.
The menu is SOUP (and crackers, sandwiches, and desserts are always welcome!). We are hoping people will bring all different kinds of soup. I have participated in church Souper Bowl lunches before, and people bring their soup in a crock pot (also keeps the soup HOT!)
The Merle Frazier class will be the host class (making drinks, and coffee/tea). If you have any questions please contact Monica.
Blessings

THANK YOU!
Dear Blanche:  Please share with your pastor and congregation the deep gratitude that we of Geneva College have for your kindness in providing a space in your sanctuary for our guest Ken Medema to perform while he was visiting October 12th.  With John White Chapel needing immediate repairs, we were thrown into a quandary over where to move this (expensive) out of town guest performance. And you came to the rescue!  Your church had all of the facilities we needed to have a successful and meaningful evening of sacred music.  So on behalf of the Geneva Chapel Leadership Team, please accept our gratitude and this small token of the friendship we have with you, our close neighbors!
Many thanks. David Kenneth Smith, Department of Music.

Thanks to the Kitchen Committee and all the people for their thoughts and prayers.
Love, Faye Davison

Thanks CHUM –  for remembering me with the lovely Poinsettia. It is greatly appreciated.
                   Love to all, Susan Thompson

Dear parishioners:   Beaver Falls Meals on Wheels would like to thank your organization for your generous contribution.  This helps our program more than you can imagine.  Because we do not receive any Federal or State grants we rely on the generosity of people and organizations like yours to help operate our program and keep the cost to the participants low.   Thank you.
Fred J. Knight, Treasurer

Thanks to everyone who brought food and worked in the kitchen for Lois Tate’s funeral dinner.  Special thanks to Mary Ann Estermyer and Vella Ruth Papa for decorating.
Love, Bev Lyon

Dear Church Members:   Thank you so much for the lovely sheaf of wheat you sent for Lois. It was greatly appreciated.   Lois was loved and respected by so many people and will be missed by all of her family.

Outreach

I wanted to thank everyone for your generosity throughout all of our activities over the Holiday Season. Everyone who received our donations was very grateful for them.   Children and Youth Services said that our food donations were the only ones that they had received to that point and were very appreciative of our efforts.  I have also had some letters from soldiers who have received our letters and crafts, and will be sharing them with you soon.

Here is a summary of our hard work –

We sent 219 Christmas Cards and 205 Angels to the soldiers through the Yellow Ribbon Girls.

61 pairs of gloves or hats were donated to the Salvation Army.

For the clothing collection, we had 6 pairs of boys pants, 8 boys shirts, 8 pair of girls pants and 15 girls shirts, along with 1 coat and 4 pairs of pajamas.

I took 14 bags full of canned goods to CYS and $450 in Giant Eagle Cards.

Your generosity has been overwhelming. I want you to know that your donations have been a blessing to many others in this Christmas Season.  Next year I hope to find a way that you can also see how much others appreciate what you do first hand. I have that experience when I deliver what you have donated, and believe me, it gives you a whole new perspective on your own blessings when you see how such  items that are common to have in your home be received with such joy.  It kind of makes you re-think any complaints that may be uttered in regard to your own life!   God bless you all!
